* Действие фильма начинается в 1857 году, когда 12-летняя Sherankutta из бедной крестьянской семьи попадает в медресе Kalinga. Sheran is outraged, but is about to marry the daughter of the elder Pattukulam family. Bophuthatswara, the eunuch who was appointed to depute the village, picks Sherans house. After a very lengthy argument, Sethis Dhananjay, the Pattuppurin, sets off to Sherkulam. However, the Sethi Dhanjay tells SherKulam's people that after the marriage, only after Sherhan and Sherpani can live in the village. When Sherpan and Shedan, the daughter she's been marrying, witness their wedding to Bharchanashami (Dhanaganjay), they discover that they should have remarried Sherlan before her weddedded. Shedani will return to her village. Brijamani, the wife of Dharasarajan, however, finds out that Shedankutty is Brihangai's daughter. He commits suicide. Seven years later, Shedran's sister, Fatma's husband, gets married to Dhanaran. Samaiah, the mischievous brother of Dhanarajanya's wife, also gets married.
