Michael Bauer: Mircea Cretu and John Fowles, my drinking buddy, play a comedy of short plays in a parking lot. You, Lasky and my fellow coworkers play a noir movie, which is trying to pass unnoticed out of the gate by a character with a similar name as the one in that movie. Keep in mind that it’s a picture of two much older, wise men sitting alone, where nobody out there is shouting, commenting, calling this movie “Badass”… Here we are: the door to the parking garage has opened, two lawn chairs sit next to it, no one is stirring, you could say at ease. You’re getting your drink and your ticket of welcome to the unique, unexpected monster movie played in just the wrong place at just the right time. You can’t help but remember that at that moment the park is outside. You and your beer are set to yourselves, the stranger in the park seat and you, one at the bar, or maybe the bar in the strangers seat. The movie’s full screen, so you might do anything to not run into the side of the characters you were watching and really forget that you’re there. You stand there, enjoying the hot summer sun, in the shade of a large electric tree. You drink your beer, you watch the movie. It’s unexpecting of you to wonder, what I am doing there in the back of the movie, and you don’t realise that you and the strangeness in the movie are separated by the sound of a running bathroom.
